Ghosts manifest themselves in photos in different ways.  On rare occasions, they will actually show up as a face or body.
Sometimes, they will appear as a streak.  The most common manifestations of ghosts on film, however, are orbs,
which appear as small round circles.  Some people claim that orbs are merely reflections of light on raindrops, or a
glare from nearby streetlamps.  However, it was not raining when any of the pictures you see on our webpages were
taken, some of them (the Sloss photos) were actually taken inside, and there were no streetlights anywhere close
to the orbs in most of them.
Below, you can see photos with faces and ghost orbs from Hunter Museum and Walnut Street Bridge.

I am used to looking at lots of pictures, and even I was impressed by this one, taken from the Walnut Street Bridge of the Delta Queen August 2010. Note that the window is dark, so the light source seems to be the figure itself. Some have compared it to a portrait of Mary Greene, the main (but not only) ghost who haunts the Delta Queen. See for yourself at http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~kycampbe/marygreene.htm.

Here's a link to a podcast from our friends at TPIT's radio show, where Hope was their guest, talking about the tour. This was a very special show, as it was broadcast live from the Delta Queen! http://www.blogtalkradio.com/paranormalchattanooga/2010/05/01/paranormal-chattanooga

August 2010, we received face pictures from 2 different people at the Hunter Museum. Both were taken with camera phones.

Here you can see what appears to be a ghostly face in the window at the Hunter museum.  According to the folks at
the Tennessee Paranormal Investigative Team, this is a face with eyes, nose, mouth, and a feathered beard.
One of the ghosts there is known to look out a window.

Here is a large bright orb at the top of the Hunter Museum.  This is a true orb generating its own light.

Another clearer picture with an orb close to but not at the exact spot of the one above.

This is another example of the large orb that frequently shows up in different places around the Hunter Museum. .

This photo was taken on the Walnut Street Bridge, and shows a large orb at the second bridge span, where a tragic
death occurred.

These 2 cool photos, taken 1 right after the other, were taken 10/22/10 down the street from the bridge, at the Louise Terrace Apartments.

In other news involving ghostly manifestations on our tour, on August 18 and 19, 2007 we had members of the Tennessee
Paranormal Investigation Team tag along with us, with ghost-sensing equipment-- cameras, EMF (electro-magnetic
field) detectors, thermometors, dowsing rods, and recorders for EVP's (electronic voice phenomenon- audio recordings
of ghosts.)  While the EMF detectors were fairly normal (normal being between 0.1 and 0.3) on the 18th, when
they returned on the 19th with more people, including some sensitives and some people (including our guide
Melody) who just seem to attract ghosts, they got readings up to 5.1!  At one point on the tour, the sensitive
sensed the presence of the ghost of a man around 75, and when she used the dowsing rods to question him,
he confirmed his age, that he had lived in the area before the new construction, and that he was just curious
about what we were doing.  (For those who do not know, the dowsing rods are held loosely, sometimes even
just hanging over 1 finger, of each hand, and the rods cross for yes, and may swing apart for no.)  At the
same time, someone else was using the EMF detector and got a reading of 2.4 (ie 8 to 24 times what is
normal) at our tour guide Melody's shoulder, at the same time she was feeling (but had not yet mentioned)
a gentle prod to her forearm, when no visible person was touching her!  They also got high EMF readings and
some orb photos in other places on our route.  Many many thanks to the Tennessee Paranormal
Investigation Team.  Should anyone need to contact them regarding an investigation, you can
email Joe at tpit@comcast.net, or see their website at http://www.myspace.com/tnpit.

We love receiving photos from our guests, and will happily post them, with your permission.  Send them to
chattanoogaghosttours@yahoo.com.  Please indicate in your email whether or not you want your name to
appear.  Send your ghost stories, too!
